This 52-year-old came to see Dr. Kerr at his Round Rock, Texas location to discuss ways that she could improve the shape and function of her nose. She had difficulty breathing and had a large bump on the lower aspect of her nasal bridge as well as a drooping nasal tip. She was not pleased with either and wanted to find out more about how a rhinoplasty and septoplasty could help improve her looks and her breathing. During her consultation, Dr. Kerr pointed changes that could be made to her nose to improve both how it worked to help her breath and how it looked overall. She wanted a shape that better fit her face and that had a more feminine look. Dr. Kerr carefully looked inside her nose and showed her the changes he could make to the outside to improve the tip, bridge, and nostrils. He recommended an open rhinoplasty which places a small incision on the columella between the nostrils but otherwise has no visible incisions. In surgery, Dr. Kerr carefully reshaped her nose and removed the excess cartilage that was preventing her from breathing well. Her surgery took about 4 hours. She slept comfortably through the procedure and was monitored by an anesthesiologist. Her surgery was performed near Austin, Texas at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. When she returned in follow-up, she was delighted with natural appearance of her face. She was not “overdone,” and the rhinoplasty did wonders for her breathing and the overall appearance of her nose. The drooping tip was fixed and overall the nose has more shape and defined feminine features that it lacked before. She is thrilled with her results.
