What Happens During Liposuction? 

During the procedure, your surgeon will make small incisions in the target area and use a thin tube called a cannula to suction out excess fat. At Synergy Plastic Surgery, we use tumescent liposuction, which involves injecting a solution of saline, local anesthesia, and adrenaline into the area to help minimize bleeding and discomfort. What is the recovery like after liposuction?  

Recovery can vary depending on the extent of the procedure and the individual patient. Although most patients can resume their normal activities within 3 to 5 days, you should avoid strenuous activities for 4 to 6 weeks.   

Liposuction can be combined with other procedures such as tummy tuck, breast augmentation, or a body lift to achieve comprehensive body contouring results. Your surgeon can discuss your options and help you create a personalized treatment plan based on your goals and needs. 

Can liposuction be combined with other procedures?  

Liposuction does leave scars, but they are very small and fade over time. The incisions are usually less than half an inch long and strategically placed in inconspicuous areas to minimize their visibility.
