Ashley Kerr, RN
Lead Injector, Co-founder Synergy Med Spa

Ashley started her career as an aesthetician. She worked at the world-famous Canyon Ranch at the Venetian Las Vegas, during which she met Dr. Kerr who inspired her to attend nursing school to further her career.

In 2010, Dr. Kerr and Nurse Ashley opened Synergy Plastic Surgery and Synergy MedSpa. They have grown their practice to over 50 employees serving 3 full-time locations and 2 free-standing surgical facilities. Together they have treated over 6,000 patients.

Ashley’s passion is to inspire women to look and feel their best. After well over a decade in the industry, she has the confidence and experience to help patients do just this.

Training and education are very important to her. She is constantly attending training session and educational conferences.

Ashley has started training local plastic surgery practices on advanced skincare, injectables, microneedling, and Sculptra®.

Mara Piggott, RN-BSN

Mara is a skilled injector with over a dozen years’ experience as a registered nurse, the majority of which have been focused on aesthetic nursing. Her keen artistic eye, precise hands, scientific knowledge, and continued education make her one of the best at what she does. Mara believes that each and every patient is uniquely beautiful. She seeks to enhance that beauty in a way that ignites an inner confidence. Seeing her patients’ faces light up with joy after a treatment is what she lives for and is why she is excited to go to work each and every day.

As a student, Mara excelled in all subjects, but most enjoyed science and art. This, combined with a fascination with people, led her to pursue a degree in nursing. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Nursing with high honors in 2007.

The early years of Mara’s career were spent welcoming new lives into the world in a high-risk labor and delivery unit here in Austin. In the delivery room, she developed a calm and friendly bedside manner, which her patients appreciate to this day.

In 2014, after pursuing some aesthetic treatments herself, the aesthetic world caught her eye: the opportunity to meld her artistic talent, scientific knowledge, and interpersonal skills was exactly what she wanted and has been her passion ever since.

If you sit in Mara’s chair, you will get the sense of her intuitive, innovative, and perfectionistic style. She regularly trains with the best injectors in the world and uses cutting-edge techniques that maximize safety and results. She keeps her clients very involved in the process and works closely with them to make sure she is aligned with their goals. Mara looks forward to meeting you to customize a treatment plan and work with you towards your aesthetic goals!

Regina Castillo, L.M.A., Senior Aesthetic Laser Specialist

A senior aesthetic laser specialist, licensed esthetician, and certified permanent makeup artist, Regina has worked in the beauty industry for 20 years. Originally from Austin, she started out as a cosmetologist for many years, then moved to Houston, TX, to further her career in skin care. In 2012, Regina transitioned to aesthetics full time, working for one of Houston’s world-renowned plastic surgeons and Advanced Dermatology. Regina received her aesthetics training at Avenue Five and her laser training at Austin Community College. She became certified in CoolSculpting® in 2014.

Regina has extensive training with lip blushing, CoolSculpting, Morpheus8, HydraFacial®, Fraxel®, Ultherapy®, Clear + Brilliant®, laser hair removal, photofacial, SkinPen® microneedling, dermaplaning, medical-grade chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and LED light therapy. She’s also deeply knowledgeable about many skincare lines, including SkinMedica®, SkinCeuticals®, Neocutis®, skinbetter science®, Revision Skincare®, Glo Skin Beauty®, NEOSTRATA®, and EltaMD®, and has extensive knowledge of injectables.

Regina has always enjoyed making people feel better about their appearance. She always listens attentively to understand what a patient needs and wants and prides herself on the work she does for her patients. On her days off, Regina likes to spend time with her family and friends and loves to run Town Lake in Austin.

Continuing education is important to her and she have many additional certifications, so she is sure to provide her clients with the best care possible!  Her goal is to help clients look and feel beautiful, making a positive impact on their lives.  Lacey is very passionate about health and wellness.  When she’s not at work, you can find her at the gym, training for a big run, taking a workout class, walking Lady Bird Lake with friends, baking, or planning her next travel destination!
