What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a nonsurgical treatment that improves the texture of your skin by creating small, carefully controlled injuries. During your session, the microneedling device punctures the top skin layer with tiny needles to trigger the body’s natural healing response. As the wounds heal, the dermis produces more collagen and elastin, which are the building blocks for tight, smooth skin. The result is a complexion that looks more even and refined.

What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is an advanced version of traditional microneedling techniques. It is the only device that combines radiofrequency (RF) with the benefits of microneedling, allowing you to improve your complexion while firming loose, saggy skin.

Morpheus8 penetrates 4 to 5 mm into the skinThe treatment can be customized to address your skin’s unique needs, penetrating the skin as deep as 8 mm. Most other microneedling treatments are much shallower at about 2 mm depth. As the Morpheus8 handpiece is applied to the skin, its Burst technology delivers radiofrequency energy to varying depths in a single cycle. This multi-level approach reduces treatment time and skin injury.

Morpheus8 is a safe and effective treatment for the face, neck, and body. Many patients choose this treatment to improve their appearance without committing to surgical procedures.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Morpheus8 Microneedling?

Microneedling is a versatile procedure that treats a variety of issues. Some common issues RF microneedling can address include:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Thin, crepey skin
  • Appearance of a double chin

What Happens During Treatment?

Your microneedling session begins with applying a topical anesthetic to the treatment area. This ensures that you stay as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment. Once the area is numb, your provider will begin moving the handheld RF microneedling device across the skin. As the ultrafine needles puncture the skin, you may feel some pressure, tingling, and mild heat as the RF energy pulses.

After treatment is complete, a special cream can be applied to soothe the skin and promote healing. Swelling and redness may be visible for 1 to 3 days, and we recommend avoiding applying makeup for at least 24 hours.

How Long Do Results Last?

Morpheus8 results are long-lasting, but the treatment won’t stop the skin’s natural aging process. We recommend touch-up treatments every 6 to 12 months to address developing issues such as skin laxity. However, scars and stretch marks that faded due to the treatment shouldn’t require maintenance.

Stay Comfortable With Pro-Nox™

We offer Pro-Nox to our patients who want to reduce their stress, anxiety, or discomfort during Morpheus8 microneedling treatments. Cleared by the FDA, Pro-Nox uses a mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen and is similar to “laughing gas.” You control how much you use during your procedure. It wears off within 10 to 15 minutes, so you can drive yourself home after your treatment.

Pro-Nox™ for Your Comfort

Pro-Nox is a patient-administered pain reliever that’s similar to “laughing gas.” The FDA-cleared, 50-50 mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen effectively minimizes discomfort, stress, and anxiety without the side effects of sedation or a general anesthetic. It wears off rapidly following your treatment—usually within 10 to 15 minutes—and you can drive yourself home after the procedure.
