Muscle tone and minimal fat are the hallmarks of a sculpted, contoured body, a goal many women and men pursue through exercise and eating a balanced diet. CoolTone—a nonsurgical treatment that tones the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks—can help you reach that goal. As one of the first practices in the U.S. to offer CoolTone—and the first in the Austin, Texas, area—Synergy Plastic Surgery is again at the forefront of providing these advanced treatments.

Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.

What Is CoolTone?

Developed by the same company that manufactures CoolSculpting®, CoolTone tones specific muscles by stimulating involuntary contractions. Unlike CoolSculpting, which uses cold temperatures to reduce fat, CoolTone uses a technology called magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS) to enhance muscle tone. MMS sends electromagnetic energy pulses into the targeted muscles, stimulating a rapid succession of muscle contractions. Much like sit-ups or weightlifting repetitions, these contractions strengthen muscle fibers. A single, 30–minute CoolTone treatment can simulate the equivalent of 25,000 sit-ups for a patient targeting the abdominal area.

Does CoolTone Burn Fat?

CoolTone is FDA-cleared for strengthening, toning, and firming muscles of the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. It complements the results of CoolSculpting, which provides nonsurgical fat reduction.

What Are CoolTone Treatments Like?

CoolTone machine

During a CoolTone treatment, a provider attaches a paddle-like device on the area being targeted while the patient is lying down. CoolTone is cleared by the FDA to tone the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. Muscles are good conductors of magnetic fields, unlike skin and fat, which are poor conductors. Once the device is activated, magnetic energy passes through the skin and fat to stimulate thousands of involuntary muscle contractions. Patients feel these contractions, which don’t cause discomfort. The muscles typically feel sore after the procedure, much as they would following a strenuous workout. We recommend hydrating to flush the built-up lactic acid and minimize soreness.

Each treatment lasts around 30 minutes, and we recommend an initial series of 4 procedures, spaced one month apart.

Combining CoolTone With Other Treatments

You can enhance the benefits of CoolTone procedures by choosing one of our customized packages that are designed to tone muscle, reduce fat, and tighten skin—a more cost-effective approach than scheduling separate treatments. CoolTone and CoolSculpting are complementary procedures, and we can recommend a skin tightening procedure also to improve the appearance of the treatment area.

Save on CoolTone With Allē

You can save on future CoolTone treatments—or a range of other in-office treatments and products—when you create an account with Allē. Saving is simple—schedule a treatment, earn points, explore offers, and enjoy your savings. For example, you’ll earn 200 points with each CoolTone treatment. Every 100 points can be redeemed for $10 savings on a future treatment or purchase of an Allē brand product. Allē treatments include BOTOX® injections, the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers, and CoolSculpting Elite®.

Who Can Benefit From CoolTone?

Women and men who lead active lifestyles and who are already in good physical shape can benefit most from targeted CoolTone treatments. The procedure addresses areas that can be difficult to tone, even for people who exercise regularly. CoolTone can sculpt the buttocks, thighs, and abdomen in a way that looks natural without surgery.

Is There Downtime After CoolTone Treatments?

You can resume your normal daily activities after a CoolTone procedure but expect to feel some soreness. Most CoolTone patients notice results about 2 to 4 weeks after the final treatment session.

How Long Do CoolTone Results Last?

Improvements from CoolTone continue to be seen for several weeks; follow-up treatments can maintain your results.
