What Is BroadBand Light?

BBL uses advanced intense pulsed light (IPL) technology, delivering light energy that harmlessly penetrates the skin’s surface and stimulates the body’s natural healing process in the deeper layers of skin. The treatment addresses various issues associated with aging and active lifestyles, including brown spots, redness, small facial veins, and rosacea. It can also minimize the appearance of acne scars.  

Often called a photofacial, the FDA-cleared BBL technology is often used to treat areas most likely to be affected by sun exposure, such as the face, neck, arms, and chest.  

How Does BBL Hero Work?  

Unlike laser skin treatments that target treatment areas with precision, broadband light treats a wider area of skin. When the tissue absorbs the heat generated by the pulses of light energy, the skin responds by generating new collagen. Collagen is a protein and a fundamental element of smooth, firm skin that looks youthful. The treatment also eliminates blood vessels responsible for the skin’s discolored appearance and reduces the melanin that causes pigmented lesions.
