What Is HALO Laser Skin Resurfacing?  

HALO is a hybrid fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. The customized treatments can be as aggressive or gentle as you want to achieve your goals with little downtime. It carefully targets years of damage to your skin, improving discoloration, enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and other texture issues. One of the benefits of HALO is that you can choose how many treatments are right for you. You can have one or two more aggressive treatments to get quick results, or you can choose to have multiple gentler treatments to achieve your goals over a longer period of time.

You can treat a broader range of skin conditions by combining HALO with BBL® Hero™ treatments.  

How Long Is Recovery After a HALO® Treatment? 

Your recovery time depends on the intensity of the treatment you want and how quickly you normally heal. In most cases, the recovery after a HALO laser skin resurfacing treatment ranges. During the initial hours after the treatment, your skin will feel warm. Applying cold compresses or ice packs minimizes discomfort.

During the ensuing few days, expect to see and feel:

• Peeling, flaking, swelling, redness, and bronzing 
• Brown spots becoming darker, slightly itchy

Swelling is also likely. These symptoms usually peak in 2 to 3 days and subside within a week. Avoid sun exposure during the recovery because the skin will be extremely sensitive to the sun’s rays. Expect total downtime from this treatment to be 5-7days. A consultation is required for this appointment. 

Remain Comfortable With Pro-Nox™ 

Some patients considering HALO or other laser skin treatments hesitate to schedule appointments because they’re worried the procedure will hurt. Our practice offers Pro-Nox to ensure you remain comfortable during your treatment. Pro-Nox is similar to “laughing gas,” and you completely control how much is administered. It is cleared by the FDA and doesn’t cause sedation. It wears off within 5 to 10minutes, and patients can drive themselves home.

MicroLaserPeel™ 

For people with less pronounced wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, or forehead, MicroLaserPeel is an alternative to C02 treatments. Sometimes called a “weekend peel,” the procedure is gentler than the C02 laser and can be used for smaller treatment areas. The MicroLaserPeel isn’t like chemical peels; we can customize the depth of the treatment so you can choose the intensity and how much downtime works for you. This treatment targets:

• Acne scars
• Pigment/ Sun damage
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Texture irregularities

Like the C02, the MicroLaserPeel works by creating controlled injuries to the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response that produces new collagen. Treatments take 30 to 40 minutes, and a topical anesthetic numbs the skin before the procedure begins. Most patients schedule a series of up to 2-3 treatments to get the desired results. You can expect 3-7 days of downtime depending on the treatment. Paired well with BBL Hero. A consultation is required for this appointment.
