Fat transfer breast augmentation uses a technique called fat grafting to take fat from one part of your body (usually the abdomen, flanks, or thighs) using liposuction. This harvested fat is then purified and injected into the breasts to enhance their volume and shape.
Unlike implants, this technique uses your body’s own fat cells to create a soft, natural enhancement. The results are subtle, with a modest increase in volume (usually by a cup size) that complements your existing breast tissue.
Breast augmentation with fat transfer pricing in and around Austin, Texas, varies depending on multiple factors. It is generally more expensive than traditional breast augmentation as it involves 2 procedures: liposuction to collect the fat and the actual fat grafting to the breast.
During your consultation, we will provide a written quote reflecting your specific requirements, including any other procedures you wish to add. For more information on costs and payment options, visit our Pricing page.
Don’t let the upfront cost put your dreams on pause! Many Synergy patients achieve their ideal look with the help of patient financing. Discover flexible repayment plans that fit your budget by visiting our Financing page.

If you’re curious how this approach compares with traditional implants, explore our comparison of fat grafting vs. implants.
Healthy women who are at or near their target weight and have sufficient stores of body fat are often great candidates for breast augmentation with fat transfer.
During your consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons, we will discuss your medical history and assess whether you are a good fit for fat grafting to the breasts. Depending on your aesthetic goals, we may also recommend complementary procedures, such as a breast lift to address sagging.

Request a ConsultationFat transfer breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure using a local or general anesthetic. The first part of the surgery involves liposuction to collect excess fat from a donor area. Once the fat has been suctioned out and purified in a centrifuge, it is ready to be transferred.
Your plastic surgeon will carefully inject the fat into various layers of breast tissue, using different angles and depths to ensure even distribution. Once they have built up enough volume, they will close the incisions with sutures.
First few days:
You can expect some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort in both the breasts and the areas where fat was harvested. We’ll provide detailed instructions to help you manage these symptoms at home. Plan to rest, stay hydrated, and wear your compression garment as directed.
Week 1:
Most patients feel ready to return to work and light daily activities. You will continue wearing your compression garment to reduce swelling and support the healing process.
Weeks 2 to 4:
Bruising will fade and swelling will begin to subside. Light exercise like walking is typically allowed, but more strenuous activities should still be avoided unless cleared by your surgeon.
Weeks 4 to 6:
Many patients are cleared to resume more vigorous exercise, though this depends on how your body is healing. Swelling will continue to improve, and your breasts will begin to settle into their new shape.
3 to 6 months:
Final results become more noticeable as residual swelling resolves. Your shape will continue to refine, and incision lines will fade over time.
Fat grafting results are long-lasting though the body may reabsorb some of the transferred fat over time. In some cases, patients may choose a follow-up procedure to touch up or enhance their results.
Although breast augmentation with fat transfer can provide long-lasting results, not all fat cells will survive. In addition, the natural aging process, weight and hormone fluctuations, and other factors can affect long-term results. Some patients may require touch-up procedures to maintain or adjust their results over time.
Fat transfer provides only a modest increase in breast size (usually 1 to 2 cup sizes) and depends on the amount of donor fat available. Patients interested in a more substantial enhancement may be better candidates for traditional breast augmentation with implants.
Yes, many patients find that fat transfer delivers exceptionally natural-looking results, especially when only a subtle enhancement is desired. Because the augmentation uses your own fat, the outcome closely mimics the feel and shape of natural breast tissue.
Fat grafting is considered safe because it uses your own tissue, reducing the risk of rejection or allergic reaction. However, it may require multiple sessions and carries risks such as fat absorption, fat necrosis, or oil cysts. Implants have their own safety track record and potential complications, so “safer” depends on individual anatomy and goals.
Yes, this approach is called hybrid breast augmentation. It combines implants for structure and fat grafting for added volume or enhanced contouring. It’s especially helpful for softening the appearance of implant edges or achieving a more natural-looking result.
It’s possible. Because the transferred fat behaves like any other fat in your body, significant weight loss may reduce volume in the breasts and affect your final results. We recommend maintaining a stable weight after your procedure to help preserve your outcome long term.
