Facelift and Neck Lift

Does the mirror reflect the vibrant image you have of yourself? If it doesn't, you're not alone. Wrinkles, creases, and sagging skin make many people look older than they feel. Dr. Mahlon Kerr and Dr. Amy Bekanich can perform a facelift at their Austin area practice to renew your appearance and improve your self-confidence. They can also combine a neck lift with your facelift to provide more complete improvement. We specialize in cosmetic surgery and use modern surgical techniques to soften the effects of time while preserving your unique, natural beauty.

Are you ready to find out more about neck lift and face lift in the Austin area? Benefits

Women and men (usually between the ages of 40 and 70) from around Austin choose facelift and neck lift surgery for lasting facial rejuvenation. Our doctors perform these procedures, either together or individually, to give their patients a variety of improvements including:

  • Restoring a firm look to the cheeks
  • Softening wrinkles and creases on the face and neck
  • Sculpting the jaw line
  • Eliminating a double chin
  • Smoothing out vertical banding (turkey wattle) on the neck

When it comes to facial cosmetic surgery, natural-looking results are a must. Some patients achieve a more impressive improvement by combining their neck lift or face lift with brow and eyelid surgery or rhinoplasty. Dr. Kerr or Dr. Bekanich might suggest a non-surgical treatment such as an injectable filler or BOTOX® Cosmetic for Austin area patients who have less advanced signs of aging. They will take the time to thoroughly review your options when you visit them for your consultation and help you develop realistic expectations for your outcome.

What to Expect

Dr. Kerr and Dr. Bekanich perform neck lift and face lift surgery in a hospital setting, either as an outpatient procedure or with an optional overnight stay. You will be put under general anesthesia so you will wake up when your procedure is complete. During the surgery, he or she removes excess skin and tightens sagging muscles through incisions concealed within the hairline and natural creases of the face and neck.

To minimize swelling and bruising, be sure to keep your head elevated for the first few days after surgery, even while sleeping. Most patients are ready to resume light activity within 10 to 14 days. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least the first month following a facelift.
