3 Truths About Your Initial Breast Augmentation Consultation

How To Prepare for a Breast Augmentation Consultation in Austin

The truth is: If you’re counting down the days until your initial breast augmentation consultation here in Austin and not sure what to expect, you’re not alone. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a few “Consultation Truths” you’ll want to know to help you prepare:

Consultation Truth: You’re Going to Meet With Dr. Kerr

At some practices, the plastic surgeon is involved in the consultation only for the final few minutes. Not at Synergy. Dr. Kerr will be an integral part throughout, guiding you through your variety of options. He’ll use his years of expertise as a breast augmentation specialist to provide suggestions, answer questions, and help put your mind at ease.

Not ready to meet with the doctor just yet? You’re welcome to schedule a breast implant “test drive” with one of our patient coordinators beforehand. At this appointment, you can ask any initial questions, feel each implant, and even “try on” a variety of sizes.

Consultation Truth: You might be nervous

When it comes to the first official consultation, feeling a bit anxious is perfectly normal. In fact, most patients admit they are both nervous and excited to start the process. Keeping this in mind, we sometimes suggest that each patient bring along a trusted friend or family member. It’s important to choose wisely; keep it to 1 person who is supportive of your choice to undergo the procedure. He or she will be an extra set of ears and hands to take notes and can help remind you of the “must-ask” question you promised you wouldn’t forget – but did.

Consultation Truth: You’re probably going to forget a question.

Speaking of questions: Yes, most patients come into the consultation with a variety of questions to ask. However, as previously stated, patients often forget their most pressing ones once nerves and excitement set in.

Our most seamless consultations are the ones patients have prepared for. This includes making a list of specific questions related to their body and goals and collecting photos of results they are aiming for. We highly suggest patients read our FAQ and view our extensive Photo Gallery for inspiration.

Consultation Truth: You might change your mind afterwards

In the end, you might decide it’s not the right time for your breast augmentation. That’s OK. We understand that undergoing any surgical enhancement is a big decision — a huge decision, in fact. Regardless of what you decide, you’ll have our support.

Rest assured, there’s no reason you should be nervous, especially if you’re headed to our Austin plastic surgery practice. Our team will be sure you are comfortable, your questions are answered, and you leave with an understanding of the process to come.

With that being said, if you have any other questions about your upcoming consultation, feel free to contact us online or over the phone. Otherwise, we’re looking forward to getting to know you, in person. See you soon!
