Toned Muscles Are Cool

It’s always cool to be the first to offer an innovative treatment to our patients. Synergy Plastic Surgery is the first practice to provide CoolTone™ treatments in the Greater Austin area, helping men and women achieve firmer, toned muscles.

Who might want CoolTone treatments? People who work out or spend a lot of time outdoors and want to strengthen their core or tone their buttocks or thighs can benefit greatly from CoolTone.

What Exactly Is CoolTone?

Nonsurgical body contouring treatments that emerged over the past decade focused on reducing fat. CoolSculpting®, for example, uses controlled cooling to destroy fat cells. CoolTone—not surprisingly developed by the same company that created CoolSculpting—is designed to strengthen and tone specific muscles.

CoolTone uses a technology called Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to stimulate involuntary muscle contractions in the targeted area. How does MMS work? Think about doing 25,000 sit-ups in 30 minutes. Impossible, right? Yes, if you’re waiting for your brain to naturally trigger muscle contractions. CoolTone, however, bypasses the brain to externally stimulate stronger contractions. It also works for the rear end and thighs, too.

What Does CoolTone Feel Like?

Once we activate the CoolTone device, magnetic energy passes through the skin and fat to stimulate thousands of involuntary muscle contractions. You’ll definitely feel these contractions, but don’t worry. They’re not painful or uncomfortable. The muscles typically feel sore after the procedure, much as they would following a strenuous workout. We recommend hydrating to flush the built-up lactic acid and minimize soreness.

Each treatment lasts around 30 minutes, and we recommend an initial series of 4 procedures, spaced one month apart.

You Can’t Skip the Gym

CoolTone isn’t a shortcut to getting a contoured body without putting in the work. Women and men who see the best results from CoolTone treatments are already in good shape but want to tone trouble spots that many of us have. The benefits of a CoolTone procedure can be further enhanced when combined with CoolSculpting treatments at our Austin practice.

We offer cost-effective treatment packages that can both reduce fat and increase muscle tone. These complementary procedures are completely non-invasive, meaning there is no downtime needed to heal. Patients do feel a bit sore after a CoolTone treatment, something you might expect after completing 25,000 sit-ups.
